Favorite Project: ‘The Phoenix on 51st’ Mixed-Use project in the Nations neighborhood of Nashville. The client saw the potential for the site and the project set the tone for more mixed-use projects in the neighborhood.

ADAM WAGNER AIA, LEED BD+C, ACHA
Founder, Partner
Adam is a Founder and Partner of Market Square Architects (MSA) in Portsmouth, NH and Austin, TX. Adam has been an instrumental leader in the New England region for the past 20 years helping two prior firms make the Inc. 5000 list for fastest growing companies in consecutive years. He leverages his experiences at each of those firms to provide executive level leadership to both the office and also the projects and clients that he works with. A member of the prestigious American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) and New Hampshire Board of Architects, Adam has worked extensively in the design of multi-family housing, industrial, commercial office, medical, education, assisted living, and education sectors. Contributing to new buildings throughout Texas, New England and the East Coast through his design. Adam received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and a MS in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver. He lives in Dover, NH with his wife Beth and their two German short-haired pointers.

Favorite Project: Elliot at River’s Edge, Manchester, NH . We had an amazing team and worked in complete collaboration toward a common goal. It was a difficult time across the industry; 2008, but we made the most of it and created lasting friendships.
Something interesting/fun about Adam: I’ve never had a hole-in-one in golf, but once holed out from 253 yards away. #2 at Atkinson Country Club during a scramble tournament (we used my playing partner’s tee shot!)

Something interesting/fun about Dayna: I have been an avid dog person for my whole life – can’t remember a time without having multiple dogs. I have been active in showing, training and breeding our Bernese Mountain Dogs under the kennel name “Spellbound” since 1999. After a decade living out of New England, we recently moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to family, specifically our first grandchild.

Favorite Project: My favorite type of project is a adaptive (building) reuse. I enjoy working with the aspects of historic preservation and the challenges of repurposing an existing structures and space to breathe new life into it.
Something interesting/fun about Meaghan: If I hadn’t gotten into architecture school, I would’ve been an industrial designer/product designer.

Favorite Project: I like re-purposing projects though (I did one for my Capstone), I love seeing how spaces can be reused after their prior tenant has moved on, so out of the ones I’ve been helping on I’d say Seabrook Track.
Something interesting/fun about Megan: With a team of other students, I organized and ran a 1,000-person Relay For Life event during college that, in one year, raised over $100,000 for The American Cancer Society!

Favorite Project: I don’t really have a favorite. All my projects have something unique and exciting about them. Whether it was the best collaborative team project, the project that taught the most, the best client, the most challenging; they all have made their lasting impressions.
Something interesting/fun about Aubrey: I like overnight winter hiking. My husband and I used to do an annual hike up Adams on New Years Eve. We’d stay over at Gray Knob or the Crag, hike/snowshoe down in the morning. One year we trailblazed down after a storm had come through the night before. Then there was that one time we didn’t make it to the shelter and we overnighted on the side of the mountain… But that’s another story on a different mountain.

CHRISTINA O’BRIEN AIA, CPHC
SENIOR Project Architect
Prior to joining Market Square Architects in January of 2018, Christina O’Brien co-owned and operated SISR Architecture, LLC. SISR is an acronym for Sustainable, Innovative and Socially Responsive design. While there, Christina worked on a wide range of “green” residential and commercial projects, most notably an earth berm home in Alstead, NH and the W.S. Badger Facility in Gilsum, NH. Her focus as an architect is to help design healthy and sustainable buildings that create a positive impact both for the people who use them and for the communities in which they reside. In further advancing her skillset Christina is a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) and one of only 17 CPHCs in NH. Bringing extensive knowledge on further ways to create long-term ecofriendly green design options for her projects. Christina has also worked extensively in the design of industrial and manufacturing, master planning, historical and mill renovation, medical, and education sectors within the New England and East Coast.

Something fun/interesting about Whitney: My family brought me on my first international trip to Scotland when I was 16 months old and I’ve had the travel bug ever since! In my lifetime I hope to visit 75 out of the 195 recognized countries. So far, I’ve explored nine different countries including Spain, Switzerland and Italy.

Robert J. Harbeson AIA, is a Founder and Partner of Market Square Architects (MSA) in Portsmouth, NH and Austin, TX. With over 25 years in architecture and related fields, and the last 17 years in the New England region, Rob has successfully delivered a range of projects from single-family residential and commercial office to hospitality and industrial. This diverse background has developed an expertise with code and technical requirements as well as the approval processes for a wide range of project types. Rob has emerged as a leader in the local community and serves on several boards and agencies. Rob has worked extensively in the design of single-family residential housing, master planning, commercial office, medical, banking, recreation, restaurant, and education sectors. Contributing to new buildings throughout Texas, New England and the East Coast through his design.

Something interesting/fun about Ally: The best 10 days of my life were spent in Benin, Africa with my Masters studio. The people there were the most genuine and loving people and my class and I developed an amazing relationship with the community of Akpakpa Dodomey-Enagnon in Cotonou. When we got home, we spent the semester designing a health clinic for the community. Someday, my professor, classmates and I hope to go back and help them start building!

Favorite Project: My first commercial project was the Sunday River Condos. It was a great learning experience, and it solidified my interest in commercial design.
Something interesting/fun about Samuel: I have travelled to 8 different countries and plan to go to many more in my lifetime. One of my favorite experiences was going to a music festival at the 1936 Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany.

Favorite Project: A small single-family residence in Portsmouth. It wasn’t the biggest or most extravagant project, but it was the first project I got to work on from the earliest phases all the way through construction.
Something interesting/fun about Joseph: Whenever I’m not working I prefer to spend my time outside on the beach, on the lake or in the mountains hiking or skiing.
